Saunas in Melbourne, VIC

Melbourne has one of the deepest sauna scenes in Australia. Collingwood and Fitzroy host warehouse bathhouses and breathwork studios; Richmond, Cremorne, Prahran and South Yarra offer private infrared rooms and contrast studios; South Melbourne and Docklands add Finnish bathhouses, health clubs and even a sauna on a boat. Cold winters make the hot–cold ritual especially popular from May to September.

Many Melbourne venues offer memberships, and casual sessions commonly range from about $40 to $65.

Getting around

Melbourne's tram network reaches most inner-city sauna venues, with trains and buses covering the suburbs. Street parking in inner suburbs is often metered or time-limited.
