Sauna guide: Western Australia
Western Australia has embraced beach sauna culture like few other places. Perth's coastline, from Scarborough and North Beach to Cottesloe, hosts beachside and mobile saunas where the Indian Ocean doubles as the cold plunge, while inner suburbs such as Osborne Park, Subiaco and Jolimont offer bathhouses and contrast studios.
Fremantle and East Fremantle are a hub of their own, with floating saunas on the Swan River and community-run beach saunas. Further south, the forests around Pemberton host wood-fired floating saunas, a memorable stop on a South West road trip.
