Sauna guide: Sydney, NSW
Sydney's saunas range from design-led bathhouses a short walk from Bondi Beach to inner-west institutions on King Street and Darling Street, private infrared studios in the eastern suburbs, and wood-fired saunas on the Northern Beaches and harbour foreshore. Many venues pair heat with an ice bath or cold plunge, and beachside options let you use the Pacific as your plunge pool.
Bathhouse sessions in Sydney typically run 60–120 minutes, while recovery and infrared studios sell shorter slots. Weekend mornings book out early, so reserve ahead.
Getting around
Sydney's train, bus, light rail and ferry network reaches most suburbs with sauna venues; Manly is a ferry ride from Circular Quay, and Bondi Junction is the rail gateway to the eastern beaches. Parking near popular beaches is limited, so public transport is often easier.
