About saunas with finnish sauna
A Finnish sauna heats the air in a timber room with a stove and a pile of stones, typically to between 70 and 100°C. Pouring water over the stones creates löyly, a burst of steam that briefly raises the humidity and makes the heat feel stronger. Sessions are short and repeated: 8–15 minutes in the heat, a cool-down, a rest, then another round.
In Australia you will find Finnish saunas in social bathhouses, recovery studios, gyms and outdoor settings, often paired with a cold plunge. If you want the classic hot–cold–rest cycle, filter for venues that list both a Finnish sauna and a cold plunge or ice bath.
SaunaFindr currently lists 32 venues under finnish sauna, with starting prices from $25.
